What We Treat

Finding Sense has specific expertise in helping individuals, couples and those in poly structured relationships with sexual and relationship difficulties.

Alongside this, our psychologists and psychotherapists are highly experienced and trained in helping people who are struggling with psychological distress, such as depression, anxiety disorders, and trauma.

We divide our expertise in three areas:

Psychosexual

Sex therapy is a type of talking therapy designed to help individuals and couples with sexual difficulties.

Relationships

Relationship therapy (sometimes called couple therapy) can help improve the way you relate to each other and break free from old patterns of behaviour that can cause problems in your relationship.

Mental Health

We offer several therapies for a wide range of difficulties impacting on the emotional, psychological and social wellbeing.

Our Process

Are you wondering how a course of therapy begins and develops?
Maybe you're new to therapy and don't really know what it is about.
Here we describe the process we follow with our clients:

1

Reach out to us by clicking on the chatbot on our website or email us using our contact form.

We'll arrange a short online session (15 minutes) to discuss what is going on and think how our clinic may be able to help.
The session is free of charge and can be booked by contacting us or clicking on 'Book A Consultation' on our website.

2

After assessing what difficulties you are facing, we will match you to the therapist that we think is best equipped to help you work through them.

However, if you want to see a specific therapist, we try our best to accommodate this.

3

Your assigned therapist will contact you to arrange an initial psychological assessment.

This normally takes one or two sessions.
On the basis on the assessment, the therapist will develop a psychological formulation (pdf - Working with a psychologist, understanding formulation)

4

With the help of the therapist, you will develop goals to be addressed in therapy, which will guide the work.

This will allow us to tailor a psychological intervention specifically designed to bring about the changes you want to see.

At this stage you will be asked to agree a specific number of treatment sessions.
